Hillingdon Community Network (Jun 2026)

On 16 June, third sector colleagues came together to hear about the plans for the new Hillingdon Hospital development and to learn more about Third Sector Together’s free Impact Framework. We then took part in a lively speed networking session, led by Naomi Lloyd-Barling, H4All’s Community Development Manager, which provided a great opportunity to connect face to face.

Hillingdon Hospital Redevelopment Update

Mel Lowe (Transformation Programme Manager) and Emer Delaney (Director of Communications) from The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust shared an update on the redevelopment of Hillingdon Hospital. This is one of the first hospitals in the country to be included in the Government's New Hospital Programme. The project is the only Wave 1 hospital redevelopment scheme in London and will deliver a modern, state-of-the-art healthcare facility for local residents.

The new hospital is being redesigned to meet the NHS's national Hospital 2.0 standards, which aim to improve patient care, embrace new technology and reduce construction costs and timescales. Plans include enhanced clinical facilities, improved patient experience and a more sustainable healthcare environment.

During the presentation, NHS speakers highlighted the importance of community engagement as the project progresses, ensuring local people remain informed about developments and the future benefits the new hospital will bring to Hillingdon and surrounding areas.

Understanding the 3ST Impact Framework

During the event, Emily Glennerster, Project Delivery and Engagement Lead at Third Sector Together (3ST), introduced the 3ST Impact Framework and shared how the framework can support local organisations to effectively measure and demonstrate the impact their services make, as well as being able to evidence cost savings.

The 3ST Impact Framework helps voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations measure and evidence their impact in a consistent way. Rather than simply counting activities, the framework focuses on the outcomes achieved and the positive difference made to people's lives.

How can it help?

For organisations:

  • Demonstrate impact to funders and commissioners.

  • Strengthen funding applications and reports.

  • Improve services using meaningful feedback and outcome data.

  • Contribute to a stronger collective voice for the VCSE sector.

  • Streamlines reporting to free up valuable time to continue supporting your communities.

For individuals:

  • Helps organisations understand what support works best.

  • Improves services through evidence-based learning.

  • Supports more effective, person-centred support.

Why join?

Using a shared framework allows organisations across North West London to collectively showcase the value of the third sector and its contribution to improving health and wellbeing in local communities.
